I'd been laying low for a long while since my 'death', but it was finally okay to come back. My would be murderer was dead, I knew that much but that was all I knew about the state of life at Hogwarts now. I head into the entrance hall, smiling slightly, glad to be back in spite of myself, and stop, just looking around once more. Happy to be home.

I'm hurrying along toward Transfiguration with an armful of books and a frown, mind on the upcoming lesson and the fact that I still haven't got the hang of vanishing, much less conjuring, when- BAM. I run smack into some poor guy, probably stepping on his foot and dropping all my books. "Oh, sorry..." I say, face flaming as I get up, trying to gather my books and avoiding his eyes.

I snort. "For you, maybe," I say as carefully pile them back into my arms. Then I wince. "Sorry. That was excessively sarcastic considering I just ran into you."

I raise my eyebrows. "Maybe not the best idea on your part, Mr. Rowan. I mean, in my case... do I really need to go to class in order to be told that I don't have the hang of the spell and should go practice it? But if you don't even know your schedule, I'd say you're probably fucked." I nod wisely.

I laugh, "Yeah, or find a nice cardboard box somewhere. More likely, I'll just mooch of my brother for the rest of my life." Or just carry on with what I do now. I add in my head, not sure if I'd imagined the prickle that ran up my Dark Mark at the thought or if it had been real.

"Nah, I wouldn't..." I sigh. "In about five minutes I'm going to change my mind. Usually that's a good thing. You know, like when I announce that I'm going to go hang-gliding and pick a fight with a death eater, then decide to go for a firewhiskey instead." I continue walking toward the library. "But it's nice to know I'm so inspiring." I say, turning to grin at him.

"Oh, I dunno. Might be kind of fun." I smile slightly. "A friend of mine has promised that we get to pick a fight with a death eater right before we die. You want in? Since I'm so inspiring?" I take the wrong hallway as I speak and wind up sitting on some stairs instead of in the library.

"I wouldn't if I were you. Death Eaters are kind of dangerous. Never know what you might get into," I smile slightly, sitting next to her. Despite the smile the warning was completely sincere. I knew firsthand what Death Eaters could and would do, obviously.

I smile slightly, looking down. "Yeah, I know," I sigh. "Hence the right-before-we-die part." I look at him closely, knowing full well that I was too trusting... too naive. That I spoke without thinking and took too many risks. "So... tell me, Mr. Rowan," I say carefully. "If, say..." I pause. What? You're going to give him some kind of test? Choice a means he's a bad guy, b means he's all right? I shake my head.

"Well, dying that way would be nasty and painful. I don't know about you, but when my death comes, I want it to be quick. And Death Eaters isn't the right way for that," I laugh, somewhat bitterly. "So tell you what?" I smile slightly, raising an eyebrow, "Or are you planning on leaving the sentence unfinished?"

I shrug, feeling reckless. Like usual. "Are you on either side?" I ask. "And at least it would be fun," I add before he can answer. "I don't care about going quick, as long as I can do something beforehand."
