"I'm fine." She smiles, "If things got really bad, I'd say," She adds, if a little doubtfully. She shakes her head, "They don't notice. I love them dearly, my friends. But they've all got much bigger problems than mine."

I study the ground, not sure what to say to that. "Just don't do something stupid, okay?"

"I won't, promise," She smiles, "Scouts honour...despite my lack of scoutness..."

I laugh. "I'm not sure it counts if you lie about your credentials."

"What? It doesn't!? Who makes up these rules?" She demands, laughing.

"They're kind of... obvious," I laugh. "I mean, would you trust someone if the reason they gave you for trusting them turned out to be a lie?"

"Um....no! Which is besides the point...actually, no it's exactly the point. Damn." She laughs.

I shake my head, then study my interlaced fingers for a moment, not sure what to say next. You really, really suck at conversations.

"You're really not a talker, huh?" She smiles.

I laugh. "No, not usually. Um... I don't know. Pick a topic, any topic." I shrug.
Post by Morgan Row on Sept 10, 2007 16:05:00 GMT
"Umm...oh big mistake, I usually pick stupid topics..." She laughs, "I'll try and pick a sensible one...um...hobbies! What do you do in your spare time?"
Post by Chance Gracieux on Sept 10, 2007 18:01:34 GMT
"Hm... I won't ask what kind of topics you'd normally pick." Then I shrug. "I dunno... fly, read... write. Play ping-pong by myself in empty classrooms and then inadvertently wind up talking to someone. Or get dragged places and have to talk to someone. Babysit my sister...." I shrug again. "What do you do? Besides lie in the middle of the floor and yell at people?"
Post by Morgan Row on Sept 10, 2007 20:34:10 GMT
"Wise choice," She nods solemnly, "Wow, pretty varied interests. Yeah, this is what I do for fun. Lie in the way of people and yell for no reason. And sometimes I stand in high places and yell random words. But Ian's a nazi and doesn't like me going in high places so I just don't tell him, or he'll get his secret police to drag me away kicking and screaming in the middle of the night. I'm just generally loud and annoying in my spare time, complete opposite of you, it seems."

"No, I'm quiet and overly sarcastic," I say with a grin. "And you have very... strange... interests. Maybe you should take up... knitting, or something." I shrug.

"Good combination," She grins, "Yeah, well, I have an overly active imagination though, as you may have been able to tell by the whole nazi secret police story, and ninja cats and the like." She laughs, "Knitting? I can't knit! Can you teach me?"
Post by Chance Gracieux on Sept 10, 2007 20:43:05 GMT
I laugh. "Hell no... I can't knit. Knitting is for girls," I shrug. "And it's a good imagination."

She gasps, "Right, that's it, Mr Chance! I'm going to find out how to knit, then I'm going to teach you to do it as well!"

"Dammit... usually I just get slapped for comments like that. Now I have to learn how to knit?" I shake my head. "You're crueler than Ellie, which is quite impressive."
Post by Morgan Row on Sept 10, 2007 20:49:37 GMT
She laughs, "I could slap you if you like...but I try not to do that sort of thing. Well, actually, that's a downright lie...I'm feeling merciful. Crueller than Ellie? Oh, well, that's good. Not that I know who Ellie is..."
Post by Chance Gracieux on Sept 10, 2007 20:56:57 GMT
I laugh. "She's my older sister... slapped me often for comments like that. Thank you for your mercy... unless you're still going to make me knit. Because that isn't mercy."

"Oh wow, evil older sister," She laughs, "Yes, I am still going to make you knit. You'll rue the day you suggested knitting to me, Mr Chance!"
Post by Chance Gracieux on Sept 10, 2007 21:02:39 GMT
"I think I already do... can I take it back? Knitting isn't for girls. Knitting... is possibly very fun. So please don't make me knit."
Post by Morgan Row on Sept 10, 2007 21:04:27 GMT
"Hmm...yeah alright, you're let off. I'll still learn though, and make someone else knit with me. You've given me a very evil idea..." She laughs.
Post by Chance Gracieux on Sept 10, 2007 21:07:25 GMT
I raise my eyebrows. "And who exactly do you hate so much that you're going to make them knit? I wouldn't... well, I might do that to Laken... or Andra. Or Laura...." I eye the ceiling, then grin. "Or Ellie. But who would you be so cruel to?"

Post by Morgan Row on Sept 10, 2007 21:09:12 GMT
"Um..." She thinks for a moment, "Rowan, definitely, and Ian too, probably. Depends how sorry I feel for him. I might rope Roxy into it as well, although she will probably be helping me enforce my evil plans." She grins.

[[How did it get to positive 11!?]]

"That was a very good comeback..." She smiles, "OH NO! The sarcasm!"

I shake my head. "Thank you. I thought it was a terrific comeback myself."
((But I'm pretty sure I last changed it after he had to leave... eh. And yeah, that's what I figured... so that's why we changed it. ;D )) ((Well... that, and he's a surprisingly good writer so I wanted to karma him... but I wasn't sure how that would be taken if he was in negative karma points... so I had to make it positive. *shrug*))
