"Fucking tree." Dan mutters, ducking away from a branch, gingerly putting a hand to a small shallow cut on his forehead. "This isn't over! I'll come back with a pack of matches or a chainsaw or something..." He warns it, not meaning it, then spots a girl nearby, "Sorry."

"Syndelle!" Briar said in a singsong voice. She wanted to challenge the tree again. Bored enough to anyway. She ran up to Syndelle grinning. "What are you doing here?" She looked at the boy and smiled then turned back to Syndelle.
