'Forbidden Forest,' I thought, 'Sounds like fun.' I walked in their praying that some helpless creature would let me put it out of its misery. Walking through the forest was relaxing and soothing. 'Come out to play,' I thought as I saw something move in the bushes. My wand ready to strike when it did. I waited.

"Someone's bored. Wanting to hurt a defenseless animal." She said, leaning against a tree nearby.

"No one asked your opinion did they?" I sneered at the person.

"Ooo not very friendly," Briar said with a slight laugh.

"No time to be friendly or trustworthy when your parents abandon you at the tender age of 9 and than die shortly after abandoning me," I hissed as a Unicorn appeared. I put my wand down. I was not about to kill that thing. It had other uses for magic.

"Eh," Briar shrugged, looking at the Unicorn.

I shook my head and went futher into the forest.

"You know, not everyone is going to abandon you. So there's really no need to take your anger out on other people." Brir called after her.

"To late for believing that," I yelled back at her.

"You don't even know half the people here. You could atleast give them a shot." Briar yelled, picking at her nail.

I walked back up to her. "I have already trust too many people with my life," I said, "You know what they did in return? Hurt me, betrayed me, left me to fend on my own. I'm not going to trust anyone here. If there is one thing in life that I learned it is never get attached."

"Same with me. But sometimes you have to have a shoulder to lean on," She said, looking up at the girl.

"Not me," I said, "I have lived through this way basically my whole life and now I just go numb. I don't need anyone."

"And that's what makes someone cold hearted," Briar said, sitting down under the tree.

"Very true," I agreed.

"Are you actually wanting to be cold hearted?" Briar asked, raising an eyebrow.

"To tell truth, I really don't know, who I am anymore," I said, "Ever have since my parents abandon me, I believed that I had one purpose in life and that was to take care of myself without anyones help. Not get attached and live my life the way I wanted to."

Briar nodded. She understood what she meant. "I know what you mean. My parents didn't die, so I wouldn't know how that feels. But I've had to take care of myself for years now. But rifting away from people only makes them worry, and you become cold. Love is for the weak, that's what my father always said. But he was wrong." She said, shaking her head. "Your parents may not be here but people will always care about you. Even if you don't know who they are."

I looked down at her extend hand. "I don't shake people's hands," I said.

I smirked. I sat down and pulled out one of my sai. I looked at it before throwing it into the tree.
