Harder Than I Thought... [[Riyann]]

[Riley Pearson]

It was snowing lightly out by the lake and I was pacing infront of the partially frozen water, waiting for Riyann to get here.
Jay was right, the closer and closer this day came the more nervous I became. After a while, I didn't know whether my hands were shaking from the cold or just from my nervousness.
I had the ring in my hand sitting in it's open box, looking down at it, trying to figure out what exactly I was going to say, mumbling to myself. I thought I had it all planned out, but the truth was I forgot every single thing I was going to do or say as soon as I got out here.
"This's gonna be harder than I thought..." I say silently, ruffling some of my hair with my free hand.
I heard snow crunching from a short distance and I quickly closed the box, putting both hands in my coat pockets, and turning around to see if it was Riyann coming.

Walking down to the lake I hugged my small jacket tight around my body against the small biting wind. I saw Riley already down there, his back to me and I was wondering what was going to happen. He turned around after I got closer and I gave him a small wave and smiled to him. "Hey you." I said, grinning and coming up infront of him, shrugging my shoulders slightly.

I waved slightly back to her after she waved, "Hey" I say smiling a little nervously back to her as she stepped infront of me, "Thanks for meeting me out here... it's kinda really cold today" I add with a small chuckle.

"What's up?" I asked, hugging him and kissing him slightly. He seems..., different. I thought to myself and brushed it away. "No problem." I said, chuckling slighlty. It was a bit chilly out, yes, and grinned up at him.

I smiled widely back to her and I felt my mouth go dry, I paused for a minute trying to gather exactly what I was going to say, "You know that I love you." I say grabbing her hands in mine, "... And that I want to spend the rest of my life with you." I add looking into her eyes still smiling before pausing again.

I nodded, not being able to speak due to having the feeling of what was coming next and feeling happier. I looked back into his eyes, squeezing his hands and bit my bottom lip slightly.

"Everytime I'm with you, I know that you're the one for me" I start to say again, "And I love you more than anything in or out of this world and am the luckiest guy to have you" I reach into my pocket and take out the ring box, getting down on one knee infront of her, and looking up into her eyes, "Riyann, will you marry me?" I asked opening the box, having a hard time believing that this's actually happening.

I nodded, grinning like mad and feeling a lump in my throat. "Mmhmm." I said, nodding still and laughing lightly. Is this really happening? I questioned myself, but not caring much to listen to my rambling mind. "I love you." I said and grinned.

I grinned, standing up, and picking her up and swinging her in a circle laughing lightly and hugging her, "I love you" I say setting her down, not being able to stop grinning, and taking the ring out of the box and gently putting it on her left ring finger, trying to get my hands to stop shaking.

Looking down at my finger I grinned, laughing a bit myself. "So I gathered." I said, joking around and jumping up and wrapping my legs around his waist, holding myself up with my arms around his neck. "I love you too." I said and kissed him.

I laughed lightly and nodded, still grinning. I hugged her and kissed her back smiling widely, still not believing this was really happening.

I chuckled and pulled away, biting my bottom lip still and then burried my head in his neck, laughing still.

I laughed lightly again and grinned widely still holding onto her, "I don't know what to say now" I say laughing a little and shaking my head slighlty.

"Me neither," I said, breathing on his neck and laughing a bit. Pulling back I kissed Riley again.

I grinned lightly and laughed a little, kissing her back again, "Did I seem really nervous?" I asked chuckling slightly after pulling away a little.

Laughing slightly I nodded, "Yup, I noticed." I said and kissed him again. "But it's okay."

I kissed her back lightly, "That's good... cause there was no way around it" I say with a small chuckle grinning.

I laughed and leaned my head on his shoulder. "Mhmm," I mummbled and chuckled.

I laughed a little and rested my head on top of hers, smiling widely, not knowing what to say again.

I smiled and breathed in deeply, hugging myself close to Riley still. "So," I started and chuckled, "Anyone else know?" I asked, curious as to who knew already.

"Uh.. yeah, a few people" I say with a small laugh, "... maybe one more than a few" I add trying to remember. "Not that many though"

"Oh." I said and laughed. "Well that's cool." I said and chuckled at my stupidity, someone else normally almost always know, duh.

I laughed a little, "I wasn't gonna say anything to anyone... but once I told one person, it got easier" i say chuckling.

I shrugged, "It's fine." I said and pulled back, kissing him deeply.

I smiled widely and kissed her back just as deeply.

I giggled and pulled away happily, pulling my left hand infront of my face and staring at the ring that was there.

I chuckled a little and watched her looking at her hand, "It'd be bigger... but I kind of ran out of money" I say with a small chuckle.

Listening to that I shook my head. "It's perfect. Just like you." I said and grinned, truth was I wanted something just as simple as it was.

I grinned and kissed her lightly, pulling away, looking into her eyes.

I laughed and looked back at him. "Hmm, I love you." I said and grinned.
